The Mille Miglia 2019 has kicked off and our drivers couldn’t wait to get behind the wheel of the 300 SL. This #MBclassic car is an absolute eyecatcher and the special design of the model always garners lots of attention. The 300 SL, in combination with the historical cities of Italy and the freedom of driving in the rally, helps to make this particular adventure special for both the drivers and the spectators alike. Designer and car collector Magnus Walker, who’s driving in the rally on our behalf, stated after the first day: „We gonna make the most out of every moment!”

The 1000 Miglia is the legendary road race that used to take place between 1927 and 1957. At that time, 77 drivers entered the race. The Mille Miglia started in Brescia, the track ran through Cervia, Rome, Bologna and ended again in Brescia. The aim was to complete the route as quickly as possible. The rally has been a classic car event since 1977. The most exciting thing about the rally is the combination of the long distance that the Classic Cars have to cover and the trips through various city centres and the slightly mountainous landscapes. Nowadays, the “motor sport” aspect has faded into the background – even though most people still like to test how fast they can cover the sections with their Classic Cars.
